Jesse Daniel has partnered up with Ben Haggard, son of country legend Merle Haggard, and together, they're looking to the future on 'Tomorrow’s Good Ol’ Days.'
The stark country duet holds an incisive message within its no-frills arrangement as the two artists croon about days to come.
“American songwriters have traditionally been observers, commentators and critics of life in their country,” Daniel shares of the new tune. “With ‘Tomorrow’s Good Ol’ Days,’ I took a closer look at my own values as a songwriter and put those forward as honestly as I could."
Daniel recounts his decision to include Haggard on the track as a no-brainer, remarking, "When I first wrote it, I heard Ben Haggard’s voice in it. I asked him to sing on it, and what he sent back gave me chills. His vocal delivery makes this song, and it is an honor to sing this one with him.”
Speaking to the song's sharp social commentary, Haggard adds: “The good times ain't over for good if you invest in tomorrow’s good ol’ days.”
'Tomorrow’s Good Ol’ Days' joins Daniel's previously released honky tonk anthem 'Comin' Apart At The Seams.' Both offerings will appear on the artist's forthcoming Countin’ The Miles, due out June 7.
The album's release will find Daniel in the midst of a lengthy spring-summer tour, a cross-country trek that will see the artist take on several classic venues across the United States.
