“It's All Very Surreal”: Female Country-Pop Trio Remember Monday Named as the UK's 2025 Eurovision Song Contestant

Remember Monday will represent the United Kingdom at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. Heading to Switzerland with their song ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’, the female country-pop trio will be the first girl group to represent the UK since 1999.

The self-proclaimed “pop girlies with a little bit of yeehaw” formed when they were in sixth-form college, and have been making a name for themselves on the British country music scene ever since. Having performed at multiple festivals across the UK including Country to Country festival, The Long Road festival and Highways Festival, Eurovision is the next stop on a very impressive path for the trio.

Remember Monday's Lauren Byrne, Holle-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele made it to the quarter-finals of The Voice in 2019, where they were coached by Jennifer Hudson. Since then, they’ve been working hard on original music with two EPs to their name, the sophomore of those, Crazy Anyway, being released to acclaim in October 2024.

In a statement to the BBC, Remember Monday stated that they’re planning to bring “loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage” - and with their track record, that’s something to be trusted.

“‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now!’” the group said on Friday morning, ‘It’s all very surreal’. The fun, feel-good song is guaranteed to make a good live performance as the girls “wanna paint the whole town red.”

Winners of the Best Duo or Trio at the 2024 BCMA awards, we're feeling confident Remember Monday will go far on their Eurovision journey. As they say in the song, “It’s been a real good year!” and hopefully that will continue for the country-pop trailblazers.

This year’s Eurovision will be taking place in Basel, Switzerland with the grand final lined up for May 15th. In the meantime, ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ is available on all streaming platforms.
