Anyone who’s been fortunate enough to attend a Jelly Roll show knows that the ‘Need a Favor’ hitmaker always makes an effort to infuse an uplifting, soul-stirring message of faith into his live shows.
Even so, that gospel-inspired spirit that permeates Jelly’s performances was more visible than ever during his recent set on Post Malone’s Big Ass Stadium Tour in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
A video has been going viral from Jelly Roll’s set at Philly’s Citizens Bank Park, where, just moments after delivering a heartfelt speech about his relationship with God, a stunning rainbow appeared over the stadium. Then, making the moment even more spectacular, as Jelly performed his faith-filled Brandon Lake duet, ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’, a second rainbow appeared.
In the heartwarming clip, Jelly Roll gestures to his videographer to turn around and see the rainbow, with Jelly then quipping, “You can’t tell me God ain’t here! Look at that rainbow, baby.”
As he shared the powerful clip across socials, the Nashville native simply captioned the video, “God is good, God is good, God is good”. Brandon Lake then reshared the viral video, expressing how moved he was when Jelly Roll FaceTimed him to tell him that this had happened during his performance of their collaboration.
Of course, in Christianity, a rainbow is often perceived as a promise and symbol of hope from God, with one appearing, for instance, after Noah’s flood. Jelly Roll’s performances have always been inspiring occasions packed with themes of redemption and spirituality - but this double-rainbow gave his Philadelphia set an added lustre.
Jelly Roll and Post Malone continue their blockbuster 2025 Big Ass Stadium Tour this weekend with a highly anticipated show at Boston’s Gillette Stadium on Saturday, May 31st.
