It's been another interesting week for Gavin Adcock.
When he’s not stirring the pot with Zach Bryan over the singer’s questionable TikTok interaction with a 14-year-old girl, he’s once again standing up for what he believes is right, especially when it involves defending his family.
While we might suggest Zach put the phone down during those early morning, blackout hours, this time the drama involved Nickelback — or more specifically, their sound engineer — who found themselves on the receiving end of a bust-up with the 'Four Leaf Clover' singer and his dad.
Videos and reports initially emerged on social media from the crowd during Adcock's set at Rock the Country in South Carolina, where footage showed the singer jumping into the festival's stage walkway and confronting a member of the public who had entered into an altercation with Adcock's father. Adcock Snr is filmed saying "that motherfucker back there, I'm going to kick his fucking ass" to shock and cheers from the crowd. Gavin takes back up his mic, stating "hey buddy, you're going to lose your god damn job you stupid ass bum, you better fuck off back there".
Initially sharing one of his classic speaking-to-camera videos to social media as a response on Saturday July 26, Adcock went into a lengthy tirade on what went down from his perspective; "On this week's episode of dipshit of the week, is Nickelback's sound guy".
"My family had been standing there for 17 songs, i watched them the whole show not causing any problems. You come up and get in my family's face, trying to get my Dad kicked out. And you know what, I got you kicked out, the police dragged you out on the top of your head you bum, congratulations dude, Nickelback's sound guy is a real winner".
"Let's go ahead and get this straight". Adcock began in his next video post to his social media channels, this time on Sunday, July 27, to hopefully offer some clarity on the whole matter.
"There was a drink sittin' on the soundboard. It wasn't my dad's, it was my acoustic guitar player's moms. Sound dude comes round the corner, sees the drink, slings it off the soundboard (it's empty by the way), and goes to cuss out my acoustic guitar player's mom."
"So, my dad hears it, probably about five to ten yards away. Steps over, gets in dudes face, tells him "you better back up dude, because people from the south don't act that way. We don't know where you're from, but you need to get out of here."
"So I saw that happen, I watch him, he goes over there and gets on his phone like a little snake, I said he's about to do some bull. I'm up there singing Cigarette, and he gets security to come down there, and I see him and they are about to grab my dad, and I just run down the alley and tell them 'nah you ain't kicking me out, he's the one causing problems' so the security got him, took him on his way, that was it."
In a follow-up Facebook post, Adcock outed the sound engineer in question, posting a photo of him and naming him outright. "And this everybody is Joe Keiser, the scumbag Nickelback sound engineer that likes to get into sweet woman's faces and degrade them".
"You can be a coward elsewhere, but you're not getting off the hook around me."
While this is pretty par for the course when it comes to Adcock reacting to whatever has happened that week, whether to him or otherwise, Nickelback have yet to respond to the incident, neither confirming or denying their sound guy, Joe Keiser, was involved in the incident.
It's pretty safe to say this won't be the first time Gavin stands up for what he believes is right, and those "stupid ass bums" better watch themselves.
