Dylan Scott kicked off CMA Fest 2024 with a high energy performance on the Chevy Riverfront Stage, with the Louisiana hitmaker reeling off a flurry of fan-favourites during his morning set.
Scott's become synonymous with the wistful, philosophical musings on living in the moment and staying true to your roots, but throughout his CMA Fest performance, the bearded crooner brought a sense of levity and playfulness whenever he addressed the crowd.
Starting with the ’New Truck’ and ‘This Town's Been Too Good To Us’, Dylan Scott wrapped his faultless, charismatic vocals around each electrifying, caffeinated hook.
In-between tracks, Scott repeatedly joked about how early it was, before gladly taking a mimosa from a fan in the front row - one of the many amusing moments during a set that showcased the ‘My Girl’ singer-songwriter's warm, amiable personality.
The packed-out audience were laughing out loud once again when Dylan Scott exclaimed ‘Santa Claus is here!’ before an image of a man dressed as St. Nick flashed up on the big screens.
After singing a clip of a Christmas carol and teasing that ‘Santa's drunk’, Scott endearingly reassured the children in attendance that the real Santa doesn't drink alcohol.
Dylan Scott stormed across the stage as he performed his hit single, ‘Can't Have Mine (Find You a Girl)’, while the viral ‘What He'll Never Have’ found Scott heartbreakingly reflecting on what would happen to his wife should he leave this world before she does.
It set the tone for a stellar first day of CMA Fest 2024, with performances lined up throughout the Thursday by the likes of Tucker Wetmore, Dylan Marlowe, Thomas Rhett and more.
Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde have been unveiled as the hosts for the CMA Fest TV Special, which will air on Tuesday, June 25 at 8/7c on ABC, and will stream on Hulu the next day. For more information on how to watch the CMA Fest TV Special, head here.
