During his second night at Houston's NRG Stadium, Morgan Wallen and Drake reunited for the first time since their surprise link-up in the latter's 2023 ‘You Broke My Heart’ video.

Morgan Wallen was also flanked by legendary Houston Astros pitcher, Roger Clemons, during the Sneedville megastar's now-iconic pre-show walkout. The previous evening, Wallen was joined by NFL titan Andre Johnson and local tycoon Mattress Mack.

At first, as ‘Broadway Girls’ echoed around the stadium and Morgan Wallen flashed up on the JumboTron with Roger Clemons, attendees assumed he was the only guest.

As Wallen prowled towards the stage, a mystery figure caught his eye behind the camera, with the crowd erupting into a sea of screams as Drake walked into the picture. The two shared a warm embrace, with Drake then proudly holding up his liquor flask.

The duo have become good friends since Drake recruited Morgan Wallen to make an unexpected cameo in his ‘You Broke My Heart’ video. In the visuals, the artists share a meal and a drink, before walking out to a car that subsequently explodes.

Wallen's former manager, Tracker, appeared on tour photographer Spidey Smith's In the Trenches podcast to explain how that cameo came about, sharing that the two artists got along well during the shoot and have since become good buddies.

With this cross-genre team-up serving as a visual representation of many fans’ Spotify and Apple Music algorithms, we're holding out hope that this Houston walkout is a hint that Morgan Wallen and Drake will drop their long-awaited collaboration soon.

During the ‘You Broke My Heart’ video, Wallen and Drake jokingly sing, “I'm kinda glad she's gone” as they reflect on a recent break-up. At the time, we suspected this could be an unreleased song. Could they now be readying it for an official release?

Alternatively, that could have just been an impromptu bit from the duo, rather than a teaser of anything more substantial. Regardless, we have no doubt a collaboration between these two chart titans would have a seismic impact on the music landscape.

With Drake still rebuilding his public stature following his high-profile Kendrick Lamar beef last year, it's hard to think of a better comeback strategy than dropping a joint track with one of the most popular artists in modern music, Morgan Wallen.

What's more, Wallen has repeatedly shown that he can flit between country and rap with ease, with the ‘Love Somebody’ hitmaker joining forces with Lil Durk for ‘Broadway Girls’ and ‘Stand By Me’ and Moneybagg Yo for ‘WHISKEY WHISKEY’, while he continues to dip his toe into the trap world on solo efforts such as ‘Miami’, ‘180 (Lifestyle)’ and ‘Interlude’, the latter of which is a new addition to his walkout.

Last year, Seth England, the CEO of Wallen's label, Big Loud, hinted that the latter had proposed a collaboration with a massive star, and that they loved the song, but cautioned that the timing wasn't right. Could this have been Drake? And if so, could the timing now be right? It remains to be seen. Either way, we're keeping our fingers crossed we get a genre-blurring anthem from these two before too long.
