Megan Moroney took to the red carpet at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday 8 May, wearing a yellow dress that paid homage to Kate Hudson's Andie Anderson character in the 2003 film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

"That's perfect cos that was the exact point," Megan said after Billboard Magazine told her she was giving How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days on the red carpet.

"Look at the necklace, girl," she joked, showing off a yellow diamond necklace that accessorised the yellow satin one-shoulder dress by Cult Gaia she was wearing.

"The vibe is obviously Kate Hudson [and] Andie Anderson," she told People Magazine. "I just watched the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days a couple of months ago for the first time. I'm not a big movie watcher, but I didn't know I was missing out on such a great movie. I've been kind of obsessed with it, and I just wanted to wear yellow and I thought it'd be cute."

Fans are wondering if the yellow dress is also a nod to the potential colour way of her next era. Her debut album Lucky had a green theme and its follow up Am I Okay? had a blue one, but could the next, as yet untitled, record be yellow?

Whatever colour theme it has, it looks like it's already on its way. She took the opportunity to share that she's back in the studio working on new material.

"I was in the studio literally a couple of days ago working on the next album," she told Billboard Magazine on the red carpet. "I like to put out albums as soon as they're done and this one isn't done yet but I do have songs that I know are making it so I'm just trying to get in the studio and get those done and try to figure out what sounds and stuff I like for the next album."

Moroney was nominated at the ACM Awards for Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, performing 'Stupid Boy' during the ceremony in a tribute to Keith Urban. She also releases her duet with Kenny Chesney, 'You Had To Be There' today, and said she'd be doing "shots" as it turned midnight to celebrate, adding that she still hasn't got used to her level of success.

"I saw Kenny in college, I saw Keith Urban in college," she shared. "So, College Megan is just having the best night ever!"

"I feel grateful and it's very humbling to remember the girl that was in the nosebleeds or in the long seats drinking too much and having a good time to know when I get to live out my dreams. I have the best fans in the world. I'm so happy right now.

"I definitely have a bit of imposter syndrome I think," Megan shared laughing, referring to the way she has become a role model for other artists to look up to.
