Cody Johnson has been forced to cancel all remaining 2025 shows, with the Texas native revealing via social media that he must undergo surgery for a ruptured eardrum.
The ‘Til You Can't’ hitmaker had tour-stops lined up in Pennsylvania, Alabama, Louisiana, Arizona and Nevada, with CoJo confirming ticket-holders would be sent an email very soon from ticket providers offering them additional details and refund policies.
Taking to Instagram, Johnson has explained, “It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year’s concert performances will not be able to happen”.
The ‘That's Texas’ crooner expands, “While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my ear drum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery. The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time. Without the surgery my downtime could be months. I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love. Thank you COJO Nation for the love and support now, and always. – Cody”
Although undoubtedly disappointing for fans, it's safe to say nobody is blaming Johnson and his loyal COJO Nation will be wishing the country hitmaker a speedy recovery. He always gives 100% on-stage, and has built a reputation alongside his Rockin’ CJB band as one of the most electrifying touring acts in modern country.
It's not the first time Johnson has suffered a significant injury, with the ‘Dear Rodeo’ crooner requiring serious neck surgery in December 2021 as a result of his bull-riding days.
Johnson has been teasing new music in recent weeks, with the ‘Human’ chart-topper sharing a photo from the studio late last month. It remains to be seen whether this newly announced surgery will delay the forthcoming releases he had planned.
Either way, rest assured the focus for everyone will be for Johnson to get the treatment he needs and recuperate, with musical concerns being put on the back-burner for now.
