Kentucky native Chris Stapleton is releasing his cover of Al Green's soulful 1971 tribute to RAM Trucks, entitled ‘I'm A Ram’.
As the nights draw in and the November mornings become rainier, Stapleton is paying tribute to the dusty old four-wheelers that save our necks whenever the Winter weather threatens to dampen our travel plans.
Produced by Dave Cobb, snippets of Stapleton's version of ‘I'm A Ram’ first emerged in a series of RAM Trucks commercials last year.
Now, on Friday November 11th, fans will be treated to an official release of Stapleton's souped-up take on this trucker classic.
The ‘Starting Over’ hit-maker has always had a penchant for covers, with Stapleton's most streamed song, ‘Tennessee Whiskey’, originally being performed by David Alan Coe in 1981.
More recently, Stapleton offered his take on the Metallica anthem, ‘Nothing Else Matters’, as part of the heavy metal band's 2021 sprawling, 53-song tribute album, Blacklist.
Stapleton's announcement comes hot off the heels of the news that he will be performing with George Strait for a handful of blockbuster shows in 2023.
Stapleton is also set to take the stage alongside another Country icon, Patty Loveless, at the 2022 CMA Awards on November 9th.
The 14-time CMA Award winner is widely tipped to add to his impressive tally at this year's event, having received nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
