Cody Johnson will join globally renowned gospel singer, Cece Winans, for a revamped version of her 2024 hit, ‘Come Jesus Come’. The new track arrives on Friday, April 25th.

It follows the release of another reimagined take on the soulful anthem featuring Shirley Caesar in March, along with a ‘Radio Version’ of ‘Come Jesus Come’ last Friday.

Taking to socials to unveil this blockbuster, country-leaning collaboration with Cody Johnson, Cece Winans - who has more Grammy awards than any other female gospel artist - expressed her excitement ahead of its impending release, “I’m so excited to finally share that the newest version of #ComeJesusCome will be joined by Cody Johnson! We pray this song meets you right where you are”.

Earlier in the year, Winans explained via a heartfelt post why she'd be releasing a quartet of new versions of ‘Come Jesus Come’ around the Easter period, “Come Jesus Come is powerful, it’s captivating, it’s relevant, and it’s true. Jesus is knocking at the doors of our hearts and invites us to lay down our hurt and pain. It is a heartfelt cry to the one true living God, echoing the voices of believers around the world. If you don’t yet know Jesus as your personal Savior, today is the day and I pray this song will draw you closer to Him. Excited to announce that by the end of the month, there will be 4 versions of "Come Jesus Come" available”.

We're yet to hear the fourth rendition, which we suspect might be another collaboration, but it's safe to say we can't wait to hear Winans and CoJo joining forces this Friday.

Endearingly, Cece Winans shared a clip of Cody Johnson being starstruck when he met her for the first time when the duo appeared on American Idol's 2024 Easter Special.

Winans heartwarmingly paid tribute to Johnson in the caption, “Throwback to last year’s American Idol special where I had the honor of meeting Cody Johnson. Grateful for artists who not only carry incredible talent but also a heart for the Lord”.

Cody Johnson has delivered faith-filled offerings in the past, such as on the rousing ‘By Your Grace’, the finale from his acclaimed 2021 record, Human: The Double Album.

It'll be fascinating to see how the ‘Til You Can't’ chart-topper approaches his portion of this track, especially given how popular the original version of ‘Come Jesus Come’ is.

The energising, uplifting track, which appeared on Cece Winans’ celebrated 2024 studio album, More Than This, has amassed around 11 million streams on Spotify and counting.

Nonetheless, we're sure this momentous duet will deliver, with Cody Johnson's charismatic baritone sure to combine powerfully with Cece Winans’ stirring, unmistakable vocals.
