Benson Boone has made his keenly awaited Portugal debut with a live-wire, rip-roaring performance at Lisbon's NOS Alive 2025, with the fast-emerging pop phenom reeling off anthemic hits such as ‘Beautiful Things’, ‘Slow It Down’ and ‘Mystical Magical’.
With Boone being joined on the stellar NOS Alive 2025 bill by the likes of Mark Ambor, Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo, it was no surprise that this day had quickly sold-out.
As he stormed onto the NOS Alive 2025 main-stage, with the comforting sun beginning to sink into the horizon, Boone ensured attendees didn't succumb to the evening chill as the Washington prodigy sent a fizz of energy rippling through the crowd.
Leaning into the comparisons that have been drawn between Boone and Freddie Mercury, the ‘Beautiful Things’ hitmaker strutted across the stage with swagger and charisma.
Inevitably, the crowd were eagerly looking forward to seeing Benson Boone doing his now-trademark backflip - and thankfully, we didn't have to wait too long before the moustachioed crooner obliged, standing atop the piano and delivering a somersault onto the stage. 10 for Execution - and given the fact that he had 55,000 fans watching with bated breath, we'll happily grant Boone a 10 for Difficulty as well.
‘Slow It Down’ was an undoubted highlight, with Benson Boone deftly building the intensity as he inched closer to the euphoric, soaring hook, but the cornerstone of this set is - of course - ’Beautiful Things’. A strikingly perceptive and relatable reflection on the often overlooked anxiety that comes hand-in-hand with blessings, the Lisbon crowd roared every lyric right back at Boone at NOS Alive 2025.
This may have been Benson Boone's first time performing in Portugal, but he looked right at home - and we're keeping our fingers crossed he'll be back before too long.
