As the anticipation builds ahead of Megan Moroney's third studio album, it seems we might be about to get another single from the ‘Tennessee Orange’ singer-songwriter.
Moroney has been teasing an unreleased earworm, ‘Six Months Later’, of late, with the Georgia native upping the ante with the rollout over the past few weeks, posting a flurry of videos across Instagram and TikTok using the addictive song snippet.
The track is set to join the Kenny Chesney-assisted ‘You Had To Be There’ and another unreleased gem, ‘Beautiful Things’, on Moroney's momentous Am I Okay? follow-up album.
Followers have been desperately trying to decipher and decode Megan Moroney's social media, in an attempt to figure out the official release date for ’Six Months Later’.
Often, such efforts are wasted, with artists keeping the drop date close to their chests until the last minute. However, it appears Moroney's loyal fanbase might be onto something.
In a new post using the ‘Six Months Later’ clip, Megan Moroney has replied to a fan asking, “So are we getting this on the 28th of June ?!?!?” with the coy comment, “before then :p”.
Some had suspected that Moroney would be dropping new music on June 28th in honour of her fan-favourite song from 2024's Am I Okay?, ‘28th of June’, which finds the 2024 CMA New Artist of the Year reflecting wistfully on a recent break-up.
Yet, excitingly, judging by Megan Moroney's latest comment, it looks like we can expect ‘Six Months Later’ to drop earlier than that. Our tentative prediction is Friday, June 20th.
In another cryptic TikTok post, Megan Moroney shared a video of her singing along to ‘Six Months Later’ alongside the caption, “juuuunnnnneeeeeeeeee sounds good right”.
Eagled-eyed fans noticed that Moroney used 20 letters to spell ‘June’, which is seemingly a hint that she'll be releasing the infectious, eagerly awaited new song on June 20th.
We'll have to wait and see whether this speculation is proven right or not, but with Moroney confirming ‘Six Months Later’ is dropping before June 28th, it thankfully won't be too long before we can stream the full version of this playful, uptempo anthem.
