Ashley Cooke has released the video for ‘Sunday Morning Kinda Saturday Night’.
The video for the up-and-coming country artist's latest single, which is directed by Kamren Kennedy, features Cooke finding a saving grace in solitude after a breakup, skipping downtown bars for a bonfire and a long drive.
“When we were planning the music video, I remember going back and forth on if we should have friends in the bonfire scene or do a loud bar scene. We decided the entire video shouldn’t include anyone else.
The lyrics basically say, ‘Hey, I’ve had enough of distracting myself by going out, I need a day to go spend some time with myself and God’” shares Cooke.
“Everything in this video feels so ‘me’ - we used my jeep, clothes from my own closet and had a bonfire. I’m just so unbelievably proud of it and can’t wait for people to get to know me a little better through this video.”
Since its release, the song has debuted at no.1 on the iTunes Country chart and has been played on Sirius XM The Highway’s On the Horizon for eight weeks.
‘Sunday Morning Kinda Saturday Night’ is the first of seven tracks produced by Grammy nominated producer Jimmy Robbins, building to an EP later this year.
