As if this year's CRS wasn't stacked enough with country talent, Ashley Cooke took it upon herself to end the loaded week with a bang of her own.
During her performance at the coveted New Faces of Country Music show – which also featured rising stars Zach Top, Dasha, Warren Zeiders and Drew Baldridge – the Florida native gifted the audience of industry executives and radio broadcasters to a surprise performance with her newest duet partner, Joe Jonas, for the debut performance of 'All I Forgot.'
Their collaboration, which was released a mere 20 or so hours prior, got the audience quickly to their feet and to the foot of the stage, their vocals weaving together in perfect harmony as they sang, "I just killed a bottle / And all that I forgot / Was I was moving on / I was staying strong / I’ll feel it tomorrow / ‘Cause all that I forgot was everyone except for you / That ain’t what this drink’s supposed to do / All I forgot was everything except for you."
In a conversation with Holler earlier during CRS week, Cooke explained how the pop-infused duet came about, saying: “It was a really fun process. The song was sent to me by my manager, I listened to it and I was like, ‘Man, this is really cool.’"
She continued, “We were like, ‘This could be a really cool song to have a feature on, especially a pop feature.’ We threw out some ideas and landed on Joe Jonas, and reached out to his team. He was super excited about it, hopped on the song and now we're friends and playing shows together!”
Drenched in 808 beats and a heady bass line, the single marks the first taste of new music from Cooke since her debut record, shot in the dark, from 2023, and joins previously teased songs like 'dance around it,' 'baby blues away,' 'gettin' old,' 'the f word' and more.
