49 Winchester Perform ‘Russell County Line’ at 2023 Americana Honors & Awards

Virginia based Southern rock’n soul collective 49 Winchester continued their hot streak on Wednesday night, with a performance of ‘Russell County Line’ during the 2023 Americana Honors & Awards at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

Lead vocalist Isaac Gibson’s smooth Appalachian croon cut through the Mother Church of Country Music’s crowd like a hot knife through butter, as he belted out the heartfelt “no place like home” ballad.

Further elevating the song’s spectacle were his bandmates, from Noah Patrick’s sultry pedal steel to Tim Hall’s cascading keys, Chase Chafin’s bumping bass, Bus Shelton’s grandiose guitar and Justin Louthian’s dapper drums.

The Ryman appearance is the latest feather in the cap of the Russell County-bred band following the release of their New West Records debut, Fortune Favors The Bold, in 2022.

Since then, the band has done everything from making their Grand Ole Opry debut to landing tour support slots with Whiskey Myers, Tyler Childers and Luke Combs, the latter being a European tour that kicks off next week and ends with stops at London’s O2 on October 19 and 20, followed by a headlining show at The Lafayette on October 22.

Additionally, the band was nominated for the Duo/Group of the Year Award ahead of the ceremony, an honor that husband-and-wife duo The War & Treaty later took home.

Other artists honored during the star-studded 2023 Americana Honors and Awards gathering included Tyler Childers, S.G. Goodman, Billy Strings and Sistastrings.
