Festival - Tortuga 2023

We're getting back on the beach in 2023! Florida's biggest 3-day music festival will be back on April 14th - 16th 2023.

Headliners for the 2023 festival have been confirmed as country superstars Eric Church, Shania Twain and Kenny Chesney. Joining the blockbuster triumvirate will be Carly Pearce, Jake Owen, Brett Young, Cole Swindell and more. 

Set on the beautifully sunny plains of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, the 2022 festival saw sets from Morgan Wallen, 

, Seaforth, Tiera, Callista Clark and more.

Set up in collaboration with the Rock The Ocean Foundation, the festival aims to raise awareness of ocean conservation. The Rock The Ocean Foundation is the 501(c)3 non-profit that focuses on 5 core values: turtle conservation, shark conservation, coral reef degradation, overfishing and marine pollution. 

Each year, a portion of the proceeds from Tortuga are donated to the 

. With the help of Tortuga fans, the festival has raised over $2,000,000. These funds have gone to over 60 partners in ocean conservation, 5 universities and sponsored research in the United States, Bahamas and Asia.

Following a successful 2022, Tortuga Festival returns to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park in April 2023. Here's all the line-up, attractions, dates and general info you need to know.

But her rise to stardom took some time. Twain, who was born Eileen Regina Edwards, grew up singing and performing around her hometown. After graduating high school, she toured Ontario with a cover band while taking singing lessons in Toronto.

She started getting attention for her singing chops, but her plans were derailed when her parents died in a car accident in 1987 and she moved back home to take care of her siblings.

Once her brothers and sisters were old enough to leave home, Twain put together a demo tape and eventually signed to Mercury Nashville. Her self-titled debut album, Shania Twain, arrived in 1993. 

The attention she’d been getting from American audiences blossomed with the release of her 1995 follow-up The Woman in Me, which featured the hit single ‘Any Man of Mine’. The album has since been certified RIAA diamond. 

Her next album 1997’s Come on Over landed at the number two spot on the Billboard 200, and becoming the best-selling album by a female country artist at the time. Both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association named her Entertainer of the Year in 1998. 

Two more albums followed, 2002’s Up! and 2017’s Now. Twain has built on the popularity of her music and world tours with two Las Vegas residencies. Her home country has honored her in several ways. In 2011, she was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, while in 2018, the Canadian Country Music Association honored her with its Generation Award, awarded to an artist who has impacted country music in a major way.

Country’s top honor for a female artist goes to Canadian singer Shania Twain, who is the best-selling female country artist.

Alongside the good company of Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks, he’s one of the only recipients of the CMA Pinnacle Award, which recognises artists that will have a “long-term positive impact on the appreciation of country music for generations to come”. 

Chesney is synonymous with the beachside, island-inspired way of life that he champions on anthems such as ‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’, ‘Coastal’, ‘We Do’ and ‘Save It For A Rainy Day’.

But the Tennessee crooner first made his mark on the country charts with a much more traditional-leaning sound that was influenced by the likes of Garth Brooks and George Strait. Chesney’s first five albums were all released during the 90s, and spawned a slew of smooth, rose-tinted hits, such as ‘She’s Got It All’, ‘What I Need To Do’ and ‘You Had Me From Hello’ - along with the hilarious ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy’, which remains one of his go-to encore songs at his live shows.

The first hints at Chesney’s gear shift from the lovelorn ballads of Brooks and Strait to the tropical escapism of Jimmy Buffett emerged on 1999’s ‘How Forever Feels’. Shortly after the turn of the century, Chesney’s new mission statement was concretised in his 2002 quadruple-platinum album, 

From that point on, through his expansive discography and the high-octane live shows that he has become known for, Kenny Chesney has taken ownership of country music’s slow lane, celebrating the joys of island living and removing oneself from the stress of the rat-race. 

It’s a philosophy that has been embraced as a cri-de-coeur for members of his loyal ‘No Shoes Nation’ fan club, with Chesney embodying the modern longing to break free from an accelerating pace of life. For many, this pinpoints the reason why his music feels more relevant than ever today.

It’s a recipe that Chesney honed through the remainder of the 2000s and 2010s, racking up a suite of uptempo smash-hits, such as ‘You and Tequila’, ‘Setting the World on Fire’, ‘All the Pretty Girls’, ‘American Kids’, ‘Get Along’ and, more recently, ‘Here and Now’.

While Chesney’s music is notable for its tropical nature, to focus only on this overlooks his unique ability to weave in heart-wrenching tales of love and loss (‘Don’t Blink’, ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey’, ‘Knowing You’), without every straying from his core credo, which is most lucidly expressed in the hook of ‘Happy Does’ (“

Kenny Chesney will embark on another nationwide US tour in 2023. Over the course of nearly three decades, Kenny Chesney has become a four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year, a six-time Grammy nominee, and the holder of 31 No. 1s.

Many artists get started when they’re younger, but Eric Church had a regular gig performing at a local bar in his hometown by the time he was a senior in high school. Despite that, he first went on to study at Appalachian State University before deciding that Nashville was where he ultimately needed to be. 

After moving to Music City post-graduation, Church began writing for other artists before catching the eye of Capitol Nashville. His debut album, Sinners Like Me, was released in 2006 and began a steady output with Carolina (2009), Chief (2011), and The Outsiders (2014) and Mr. Misunderstood (2015) following in quick succession. In 2021, he released his seventh studio LP, Heart & Soul, which was a triple album set.

His third album Chief earned Church the ACM Award and CMA Award for Album of the Year in 2011. He also won the ACM Award for Top New Solo Vocalist.

Around that time, Church founded the charitable organization Chief Cares, which helps underprivileged families in Tennessee and Church’s home state of North Carolina.

Famously, Church’s penchant for big, lively performances got him kicked off Rascal Flatts’ tour in 2006. He regularly went over his allotted time and was warned repeatedly to stop. Eventually, Rascall Flatts traded Church for newcomer Taylor Swift. At the time, Church joked that Swift should send him her first gold record for the increased exposure she got. She eventually did, writing him, “Thanks for playing too long and too loud on the Flatts tour. I sincerely appreciate it. Taylor.”

A native of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, a young Pearce once declared that one day she would play the Grand Ole Opry. Now, a couple of decades later, she's become a member of the Opry family, tallied 100 appearances in the hallowed Circle and become one of the leading ladies in the country format.

She most recently earned her fourth No. 1 with the Platinum-certified single, 'What He Didn’t Do,' making her the first woman in 80 weeks to top the country radio charts with a solo track.

With multiple RIAA certifications, three CMA Awards, four ACMs and a CMT Music Award, the Kentucky Music Hall of Famer has created her own special concoction of starpower, fit with her signature Kentucky-bred twang and fierce lyrical vulnerability to boot.
