, Wallen's rise to country's upper echelons has been meteoric - but one that has not been without its fair share of controversies, which have at times threatened to transform this unprecedented ascent into a tumultuous collision course. 

 during the playoffs in 2014, Wallen released his 

EP, which paved the way for a recording contract with Big Loud Records. Following this, Morgan Wallen's 2018 debut album, 

, spawned hits such as ‘Chasin' You’, ‘Whiskey Glasses’ and the rowdy, party-starting Florida Georgia Line collaboration, ‘Up Down’. 

 helped to solidify Wallen's mercurial blending of lyrical, lovelorn balladry with his playful, down-home charm. 

Wallen's sonic dirt-road was concretised in January 2021 when he released 

. Totalling 30 songs, the project capitalised on the songwriting prowess of Wallen himself, alongside frequent collaborators such as HARDY, Ernest and Ben Burgess. Numerous songs from the album have since gone multi-platinum, such as ‘More Than My Hometown’, ‘Wasted On You’, ‘7 Summers’ and ‘Sand In My Boots’.

In February that year, Wallen was suspended from his label after being filmed using a racial slur. This followed a series of controversies in 2020, which included Wallen being arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, as well as being dropped from 

 after violating social distancing guidelines. 

went on to break a number of records, becoming the longest-running top ten album on the Billboard 200 since the chart began. The project has also spent more time at Number One on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart than any any other album in the chart's history. 

In 2022, Morgan Wallen won the ACM Award for Album of the Year, which built on the success of his 2021 Billboard Music Awards for Top Country Artist and Top Country Album. Wallen is also a past recipient of the CMA New Artist of the Year. 

In October 2022, Wallen wrapped up his country-spanning 

tour, during the course of which the Tennessee hitmaker played to over 800,000 fans. As he closed out his final show, his 2022 single, ‘You Proof’, was confirmed as his seventh Number One at country radio.

On March 3 2023, Morgan Wallen released his new album, 

, featuring hit singles such as ‘Thought You Should Know’, ‘Last Night’ and more. The 36-song project continues to set new streaming records, and is being accompanied by 2023 world tour, which will take Wallen across the US, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Hailing from Sneedville, Tennessee, Morgan Cole Wallen has quickly become one of the most decorated artists in modern country.

When you look at the landscape of country music, you'll mostly find good ole boys in cowboy hats or ball caps singing about trucks, beer, girls, heartbreak and, more than likely, a vague, off-the-grid backroad in some small, picturesque town.

What you wouldn't find, until the last few years, is Jelly Roll: a tatted-up rapper from middle Tennessee with a past that includes dozens of trips behind bars, drug dealing and more obstacles than we could ever think up.

Despite all of that, though, weaved throughout all of Jelly Roll's music is an unbreakable thread of hope, vulnerability and raw honesty that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in the genre.

Born Jason DeFord, he was raised in Antioch, a neighborhood just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. Coming up in a middle-lower class community as the youngest of four kids, he was witness to his mother's enduring mental health and addiction issues from a young age. Exposed to drug dealing and other hardships, he spent the better part of 12 years in and out of juvenile detention and jail systems, earning multiple counts of possession and attempted robbery, among other things.

Upon being released from jail, Jelly Roll admitted that he wasn't qualified to do much other than talking and singing, so he set his sights on music. He originally began his career in the hip-hop space as part of the group SNO and eventually waded into the rock scene, but now, he sits in the upper echelons of today's country music icons.

, Jelly Roll has been on the fast track to stardom. The genre-defying album included both his first No. 1 at rock radio, 'Dead Man Walking,' as well as his debut country single, 'Son of a Sinner,' which hit the peak at country radio in January of 2023.

Quickly checking off items on a new artist's country music check list, including making his Grand Ole Opry debut in November 2021, Jelly Roll successfully sold out Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in December 2022 and simply hasn't stopped since.

After stealing the show at the 2023 CMT Music Awards in May as a first-time nominee with three wins for the Male Video of the Year, Male Breakthrough Video of the Year and Digital-First Performance of the Year, Jelly Roll brought everything to a head this June with the release of his debut country album, 

, which features breakout single 'Need A Favor.'

Exploring themes of addiction, pain, struggle and redemption, Jelly Roll’s music combines southern-tinged rap beats with his soulful vocals, and it has proven to strike a chord with listeners far and wide.

Rodeo-men have taken on an almost mythical status in country music, standing as a touchstone for a simpler, freer way of life. Yet the majority of rodeo songs and Wild West tales have been spun by artists that were cowboys in appearance and nothing more.

That was, of course, until Cody Johnson and his band stampeded onto the scene with his untethered 2019 label debut, 

. It topped both the Billboard Top Country Albums and the All-Genre Digital Sales charts. In actual fact, this was Johnson’s fourth album, having released the previous three on his own label.

It betrays a sense of unbridled determination that Johnson honed in a non-musical arena. Born in Sebastopol, Texas, Johnson started out as a competitive bull rider, living out the harsh realities of a life that had been idealised in so many country hits.

Although his path would ultimately deviate away from the rodeo circuit and into the music industry, Johnson’s albums are pervaded by an underlying determination to bring ‘the cowboy’ back to Nashville. His fans - collectivised as CoJo Nation - celebrate Johnson’s unique authenticity in an industry that has often manipulated the cowboy aesthetic as a marketing device.

In the summer of 2021, Cody Johnson offered fans an all-access pass into his journey so far with the release of his 

 documentary, named after his 2020 Reba McEntire collaboration of the same name.

Later that year, Johnson dropped his acclaimed double album, 

, which captured the energy of the rowdy, high-octane live shows that the Texan has become known for. Two of the stand-out tracks, ‘‘Til You Can’t’ and ‘Human’, showcased Johnson’s ability to fuse down-home humility with a rip-roaring sense of carpe diem. For ‘‘Til You Can’t’, Johnson would go on to win the 2022 CMA Awards for Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

Johnson closes out 2022 with the release of
