Reba McEntire to Host 59th Academy of Country Music Awards

Country icon Reba McEntire will make her return as host to this year's Academy of Country Music Awards, but the 59th annual ceremony will bare witness to much more than just her sharp banter and trademark charm.

The now 17-time ACM Awards host will be pulling double-duty, taking on the role of emcee and also entertainer as she plans to bring brand-new music to the Ford Center stage.

"I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time!” McEntire shared of the news. “What an honor to have been part of the past, present and now the future of the Academy of Country Music ... I can’t wait to get to Texas and see everybody May 16th!"

“We are thrilled for the homecoming of Reba to the ACM Awards stage for the 17th time," offered ACM CEO Damon Whiteside, adding, "No one has a deeper and richer history with the Academy than Reba, from her many years hosting the ACM Awards, and from her 16 ACM Awards wins including Entertainer of the Year and two ACM anniversary Milestone Awards."

The ACM Awards will be held on Thursday, May 16, once again taking place at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. The prestigious ceremony will be available to stream live on Prime Video at 7 p.m. Central that evening.
