After guesting on Saturday Night Live earlier in the week, Chris Stapleton continued his rare national TV studio tour with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform ‘It Takes A Woman’, as well as delivering an improvised ode to John Stamos.

Stapleton's stellar rendition of ‘It Takes A Woman’ took place on Kimmel's outdoor stage, which hasn't been used in four years, with the bearded hitmaker performing the heartfelt, endearing ode to his marriage alongside his wife and collaborator, Morgane.

In addition, Chris Stapleton reminded viewers that, although he doesn't agree to too many media commitments, when he does, he's not afraid to showcase his sense of humour.

During a round of Wing It & Sing It, Chris Stapleton was tasked with crooning a series of oddball lyrics as Jimmy Kimmel revealed them, with Stapleton having no prior knowledge of what was written on the cards ahead of the performance.

In an amusing - and random - twist, the song quickly descended into a lovestruck tribute to John Stamos (“When the kids are all gone, and so is my spouse / I crack a hard seltzer and I watch Full House / With a sweet impish grin, those dimples and that chin / Those pretty green eyes, those shoulders, those thighs”)

Then as Chris Stapleton reached the crescendo, John Stamos emerged on-stage, with the duo sharing a warm embrace following the outlandish and incredibly wacky sketch.

During his interview with Kimmel, Stapleton was asked whether he would ever consider retiring as he gets older, with the ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ chart-topper thankfully rejecting this idea, “I mean, I love to play music. I get paid to do something I would do for free, so I don't really think...I would ever fully consider not doing that”.

Here's hoping we've got plenty more Chris Stapleton albums to look forward to before the much-loved country megastar hangs up his hat, with the artist's latest project, Higher, being celebrated by many fans as one of the best records of 2023.
