Apple Music has released a brand new Nashville Sessions project, consisting entirely of country covers of Beyoncé, with Tanner Adell, Breland, Brittney Spencer, Madeline Edwards, Joy Oladokun and Tiera Kennedy contributing to the genre-fusing project.
Apple Music has become synonymous with its top-tier country section, with the streaming platform housing a range of exclusive sessions, interviews and artist-hosted radio stations.
This Apple Music Nashville Sessions: Beyoncé Covered project is the latest example of this, with the eclectic collection showcasing six fast-emerging Black country artists.
Tanner Adell delivers a sensual, spellbinding rendition of Beyoncé's iconic anthem, ‘Drunk On Love’, with the ’Buckle Bunny’ singer-songwriter demonstrating her vocal prowess and charisma throughout the sinuous, romantic offering.
Breland takes the helm for ‘Sandcastles’, a fan-favourite from Queen B's lauded 2016 record, Lemonade, with the ‘My Truck’ hitmaker stripping things back to just an acoustic guitar and letting the spotlight fall enchantingly on his captivating voice.
Next, Madeline Edwards steps up to the microphone for a rousing take on ‘Halo’, before Tiera Kennedy provides an intricate rendition of Beyoncé's slow-burning ballad, ‘1+1’.
Joy Oladokun's soulful, atmospheric cover of Beyoncé's 2024 duet with Miley Cyrus, ‘II Most Wanted’, is another highlight, while Brittney Spencer closes out the new project with a stunning portrayal of the global megastar's 2006 classic, ‘Irreplaceable’.
Apple Music Nashville Sessions: Beyoncé Covered serves as a celebration of Beyoncé's 2024 country album, COWBOY CARTER, which has been championed by fans and critics alike for the doors it has opened for up-and-coming Black artists in a genre that has been criticised for being centred around white voices.
