Oliver Anthony's New Album 2024: Everything We Know So Far

It's somewhat of an understatement to say that 2023 was a monumental year for Oliver Anthony. The Virginia singer-songwriter seemingly emerged out of nowhere to pick up his first ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with the politically-charged and controversial hit single, ‘Rich Men North Of Richmond’, and now stands at the forefront of the new wave of artists in the alt-country, folk-leaning - or ‘Bloke Folk’ - space.

After drip-feeding fans a plethora of singles throughout the year, Oliver Anthony took to socials to confirm he'd be recording his debut full-length album in January 2024.

In early January, Anthony confirmed he was hard at work on the project, sharing, “Today, I started recording my first album in an old church in Georgia. I don't cry very often, but I have this week. This is such an incredible opportunity”.

He went on the emphasise his gratitude for his journey so far, “I have been so blessed to be given the chance to share my music with the world. I pray that these songs will help people get through the hard days to come. I love y'all. I won't let you down”.

Although many aspects of the record are still yet to be unveiled, in October 2023, the enigmatic up-and-comer shed some light on what fans can expect from the album.

Anthony revealed on Instagram, “Going to be recording outdoors, much like the RadioWv session videos you've seen popping up on YouTube recently, but with a few other instruments added”.

We'll be keeping a keen eye out for news of a tracklist and official release date in the weeks to come, but we imagine singles such as ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’, ‘90 Some Chevy’, ‘Cobwebs and Cocaine’, ‘Long Gone’, ‘Ive Got To Get Sober’ and ‘I Want To Go Home’ will all feature, alongside a slew of unreleased originals.
