Following the death of legendary Grateful Dead band-member, Bob Weir, Zach Bryan has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to the lasting impact Weir has had on his own sound.

After confirming that, as promised, he had dropped an acoustic version of his brand new album, With Heaven On Top, Bryan revealed that if this companion project had not been planned way in advance for release, he would've postponed it out of respect for Weir. Weir's passing was announced on Saturday, January 10th, the day before Bryan made With Heaven On Top (Acoustic) available.

In the sincere post, the ‘Something in the Orange’ singer-songwriter begins by adding context to the new body of work, “‘With Heaven on Top (Acoustic)’ is out now...this one’s for all the weird audiophiles that no matter how much I put into a record will always miss just a guitar & me...like I said it’s just me n a room with a mic and guitar and a very pretty girl and a very small dog...Love u guys and hope you enjoy it”.

Then, he adds a few touching words of reverence for Weir, “Irrelevant but rest in peace to Bob Weir that guy fuckn rocked”, before revealing that his wife, Samantha Leonard, had bought him Weir's old guitar before their wedding, “the day Sammy and me got hitched she gave me a present and I opened it and it was his telecaster from all his days on the road we all love you and we will all miss you”.

The country-folk titan concluded by underlining he would've ideally delayed the release of With Heaven On Top (Acoustic) out of respect for Weir, “if this wasn’t previously planned to release today I would have left this alone and let the world be”.

Bryan and Leonard got married in an intimate ceremony in San Sebastián, Spain on New Year's Eve, with Leonard marking the occasion with this special wedding-day gift.

Weir was one of the founding members of the trailblazing rock group, the Grateful Dead, co-writing some of the band's most iconic hits, like ‘Truckin’ and ‘Super Magnolia’. He passed away on January 10th, following “underlying lung issues”, according to an official statement shared by Weir's family. The rock pioneer is survived by his wife, Natascha Münter, and two daughters, Monet and Chloe.
