Zach Bryan has surprised fans by seemingly removing the now-iconic image of him and his ex-wife, Rose Elisabeth Madden, from the artwork for his beloved 2020 album, Elisabeth.

The project was largely inspired by and named after his former partner, with the couple marrying in 2020 before getting a divorce the following year. A plethora of rumours have since emerged surrounding their split, but neither Zach nor Rose have delved into the topic, instead - understandably - keeping it a private matter.

Even so, Zach Bryan's decision to alter the artwork of Elisabeth, which remains a fan-favourite project and helped launch the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker's career, has reopened the debate and controversy around the couple's break-up in 2021.

It's unclear why Zach Bryan has made this artwork adjustment, with the timing looking to be relatively random. With the Oklahoma singer-songwriter currently readying a brand new album, perhaps the release of this will help to clarify his Elisabeth decision.

Interestingly, Zach has not only made visual changes to Elisabeth, he's also withdrawn two songs - the title-track and ‘Anita, Pt. 2’ - from the project across streaming platforms.

Some fans have speculated that Zach Bryan may be trying to help his ex-wife escape media attention, particularly as she is not a public figure and did not seek any kind of fame.

At present, though, this sudden alteration appears to have intensified the discussion and rumour-mill revolving around the couple's relationship and subsequent split. Given Zach's penchant for X (formerly Twitter), we imagine he'll take to the social media platform to comment on the new changes to Elisabeth before too long. Zach Bryan is currently dating Barstool Sports podcaster, Brianna LaPaglia.
