With Luke Combs being announced as one of the headliners on the expansive Bonnaroo Festival 2025 line-up, country fans have been celebrating this as a huge moment for the genre, and a testament to Combs’ unstoppable ascent over the past eight years.
Ever since he released his debut album, This One's For You, in 2017, the North Carolina native has cemented himself as one of the biggest artists in the genre, amassing 19 No. 1 Country Radio singles, his latest being his Twisters hit, ‘Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’.
As the country music world toasted Luke Combs’ milestone of being booked for Bonnaroo, which remains one of the most renowned all-genre festivals in the US, Combs himself has taken to Instagram Stories to express what this show means to him.
An emotional Combs began by underlining his gratitude, and taking fans back to where it all started, “What is life, y'all? Man, one day you pick up a guitar, and you're trying to learn how to play. A few years later, you're playing your own shows. A few years later, you move to Nashville, and so on and so forth. And here we are, man, headlining freakin’ Bonnaroo this coming year. Oh my gosh, man, I'm so excited”.
The ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ hitmaker went on, “It's gonna be so much fun. I hope y'all will give us a chance out there, I hope y'all come see the show, I promise we got a lot of special stuff for y'all out there. Look forward to seeing you at The Roo this year”.
The fact that Luke Combs made a plea for attendees to “give us a chance out there” suggests that, as well as being overjoyed, Combs is perhaps feeling a little trepidatious about the show too, given how country music is rarely given the headline slot.
Nonetheless, we have no doubt that Luke Combs will deliver an electrifying, stellar performance on Thursday, June 12th when the opening day of Bonnaroo Festival 2025 rolls around. Also set to take the stage in Manchester, Tennessee is Olivia Rodrigo, Hozier, Tyler, the Creator, Glass Animals, Dom Dolla, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age, Marcus King, Raye, GloRilla, Nelly, Mt. Joy, Jessie Murph, Tyla and more.
