Since its inaugural event in 2007, Stagecoach Festival has become one of the most beloved and most sought after country music events of the year.
The southern-singed sister festival to Coachella held the following weekend, the annual event has been bringing the biggest and best acts from across country music and its sub-genres for almost two decades, and this year is seeing country-rocker Koe Wetzel take the stage for the very first time.
Slated to appear on the Palomino stage–one of half a dozen set up on the property across the long weekend–on Saturday evening, the Texas native will add the Stagecoach debut as the most recent entry on his long list of achievements.
From releasing his acclaimed 9 Lives record, to scoring an entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and attacking the road all year long, 2024 read like a banner year of sorts for the homegrown star.
"The whole year was kind of a blur," Wetzel shares with Holler ahead of Stagecoach 2025. "We've been doing this for so long. I think it was 12 or 13 years in October that we've been on the road and playing music, but last year was kind of an eye-opener."
He explains, "I took a step back, looked at everything and thought, 'Wow, this is really kind of all coming to fruition.' This is where we wanted to be when we started."
Now, with the weekend drawing ever closer, Wetzel adds another log on the fire with his coveted appearance at Stagecoach 2025.
"I'm very honored to get to play it and put our country asses on that stage," Wetzel says with a laugh. "We got to play some really cool festivals last year, so to continue to play those festivals and one like Stagecoach is so massive." He adds, "We love going out to California and they've always shown us a lot of love so we're excited to get out there."
Over the years, Stagecoach has become a hot spot for once-in-a-lifetime collaborations, huge announcements and jaw-dropping performances, and Wetzel has plenty of those up his sleeves as he rolls into the Empire Polo Club this week.
"We'll have a few guest appearances and play one or two new songs," he teases. "Other than that, it's going to be chaos for 60 minutes or however long we're there. No slow songs either. We're not going to get in our feels at Stagecoach, we're going to be balls to the wall the whole time."
With a discography abounding in raucous party anthems and head banging heavy hitters, like 'Creeps,' 'Cabo,' 'High Road,' '9 Lives,' 'Something to Talk About' and more, only time will tell how Koe Wetzel will cement his name into country music's biggest party pf 2025.
Stagecoach Festival will take up residence at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA from April 25-27 with headlining performances on tap from the likes of Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll and Luke Combs.
