Tucker Wetmore has once again turned on the charm with his brand new song snippet, ’Drink Alone’, which finds the Washington crooner sweet-talking a woman he meets in the bar.
This latest unreleased track is expected to feature on Tucker Wetmore's highly anticipated debut album, alongside already-released singles, ‘What Would You Do’, ‘Wine Into Whiskey’ and ‘Wind Up Missin’ You’, with the project hopefully dropping later this year.
Tucker Wetmore introduces the song by explaining how he's going to be uploading a flurry of unreleased tracks in order to gauge fan reactions, which will in turn help him to curate the new record's tracklist. Judging by the responses so far, we don't think he's going to have a choice but to include ‘Drink Alone’.
‘Drink Alone’ is an uptempo, dance-ready track that feels tailor-made for the summer festival circuit, with Tucker Wetmore delivering his honeyed croons across a breezy, synth-laden instrumental. Tucker has drawn comparisons with Morgan Wallen since his earliest demos first emerged, due to his style of delivery and his willingness to infuse a range of R&B and Pop-inspired elements into his sound.
In reality, these assessments often feel like over-simplifications and fail to capture the scope of Tucker Wetmore's lyrical prowess and the infectious nature of his melodies.
Having said this, ’Drink Alone’ undoubtedly seems to explore similar sonic territory to the genre-fusing ambience of Morgan Wallen's viral unreleased track, ‘Love Somebody’.
If Tucker and Morgan both decide to release these new songs in the coming weeks, it's safe to say we'll have two perfect additions to our summer boat day soundtracks...

“You've heard all them pick-up lines
So you won't hear not one of mine
That ain't even what I'm tryna do
-
I just think it's such a shame
You're by yourself, girl, who's to blame?
Yeah, what's his name?
What'd he do to you?
-
Is this stool open okay?
Is it whiskey, white wine or red?
You probably think that chivalry's dead”
