“They Sound So Good”: BigXthaPlug Discusses New Country Songs, Says He's Post Malone and Luke Combs’ Favourite Rapper

In a new interview with Billboard, BigXthaPlug has again teased his star-studded country EP, with the ‘Change Me’ rapper having previously confirmed the project will feature Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Shaboozy and more.
When pressed about the mixtape in this latest conversation, BigXthaPlug responded by underlining how excited he is about the record, “I ain't gonna say [if it's an EP or mixtape], but it's like, we've done songs and they sound so good, and it's like, ‘Why not make a little body [of work] out of it?’”. He did, however, imply we won't be hearing his country EP too soon, due to the ongoing popularity of his 2024 album, “But I think Take Care's gonna hold me over for a little minute”.
BigXthaPlug went on to underline that the A-list cast he's referenced in earlier interview are still keen to be involved, with the Dallas hitmaker hinting that he's already recorded some of the blockbuster collaborations during a trip to Tennessee in 2024.
He shared, “These are all people that we've already talked to, they're willing and ready to work. Remember I told you that we were in Tennessee...that's what I was there for”.
Then, BigXthaPlug went on to highlight how, to his own bemusement, a number of country artists have expressed their admiration of his work, including Post Malone and Luke Combs. He reflected, “Post Malone, Luke Combs, all those guys, they claim I'm their favourite rapper. That's crazy to me! So yeah, we're definitely gonna work”.
During a December 2024 discussion with Complex, BigXthaPlug confirmed that he's hard at work on the highly anticipated mixtape, “I got a country EP loaded up. You got Shaboozey, you got Morgan Wallen, you got Post Malone, Luke Combs, Jelly Roll”.
We'll have to wait and see when BigXthaPlug plans on releasing this forthcoming project, but with Morgan Wallen attending one of his shows last year, we wouldn't be surprised if Wallen has already recorded his contribution to the genre-blending record.
