Fans may have mourned the end of Taylor Sheridan's hit neo-Western series Yellowstone in late 2024, but it's evident that there's plenty of life left in the Dutton Ranch universe.
After the announcement that Marshals would be picking up where Kayce Dutton's story left off, with Luke Grimes returning alongside other Yellowstone fan-favourites such as Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), it's now been confirmed that Sheridan's other long-teased spin-off, The Madison, will be premiering this year.
The first episode of The Madison will air on Paramount+ on Saturday, March 14th 2026, with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell starring in this modern-day take on Yellowstone. While there are no members of the Dutton family revealed to be involved at this point, we can envision some fun cameos and crossed-paths, given the fact that Kayce Dutton, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler all still live in Montana.
The series is set to follow New York's Clyburn family, which makes a dramatic move to Montana's Madison Valley following a personal tragedy. Sheridan has billed this as his most “intimate” series to date, with The Madison exploring a family's response to grief.
Peiffer will step into the shoes of Stacy Clyburn, while Kurt Russell will play her husband Preston Clyburn. The show is expected to pivot around the death of the latter and his brother, leaving Stacy to take the family to Montana as she grapples with the loss.
The teaser trailer, which aired during the Landman Season 2 finale, features Pfeiffer discussing her pain with her therapist, heartbreakingly crying, “My center, my soul, is gone”.
In a somewhat unusual twist, both Season 1 and Season 2 of The Madison have already been wrapped, which could mean we'll be getting the second instalment later this year, rather than the usual lengthy wait in-between Sheridan seasons.
Alongside The Madison, Yellowstone fans can look forward to Dutton Ranch, which will see Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their beloved roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, along with Marshals and another rumoured spin-off, 1944, set during World War II and potentially seeing Brandon Sklenar return as 1923's Spencer Dutton.
