It was bottoms up at the CMA Awards ceremony Wednesday night (Nov. 20) when Shaboozey took to the stage, the hitmaker giving an intoxicating performance of 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)'.
Before he dove into the viral hit, though, he kicked off his performance with a brief showcase of one of his more recent singles, 'Highway'. The rendition was subdued, the artist saving his energy for the raucous party anthem that would follow.
In the first swaggering notes of 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)', the awards show stage was transformed into the ultimate dance party. Two-steppers and lassoers joined Shaboozey under the spotlight, making the irresistible sing-a-long even more so.
Since its release in April, 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' has been a leader on the country charts, as well as the frontrunner of many mainstream rankings. The song most recently secured its 18th week atop the Billboard Hot 100, making the viral hit the longest reigning solo No. 1 in the history of the mainstream singles chart.
The song's success, however, spans beyond the charts. It was recently announced that 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' is up for 4 Grammy awards – Song of the Year, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, as well as Best Remixed Recording for the recent David Guetta remix. Shaboozey, himself, is in the running for Best New Artist at the 67th annual Grammy awards ceremony.
Aside from the blistering CMA Awards performance, the star and his hit are also in the running for a handful of the night's honors. He has received first-time nods for New Artist of the Year, as well as Single of the Year for 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)'.
