The Wyoming-born, Nashville-based rapper and 'Cowboy Killer' collaborator Ryan Charles has announced that his debut album, Jiggy Buckaroo, will be released on 5 December via River House Artists and its country features are getting us very excited.

Revealing the artwork and tracklisting for the album, he also let slip that Sierra Ferrell, Randy Savvy, Tyler Halverson, and Struggle Jennings are all featuring, while 'Cowboy Killer' collaborator Ian Munsick has a writing credit on 'Stay Twangin'.'

“I didn’t go chasing features just to have ‘em," says Ryan Charles. "For a while, this album was shaping up to be all me. Then my friends - who also happen to be some of my favorite artists - jumped on board. It just happened naturally, and that’s what makes it feel right.”

Hailing from the valley of Buffalo, WY, Charles became Wyoming's American Song Contest representative in 2022 with the infectious 'New Boot Goofin' as he showcased his innovative country coded brand of hip hop, meshing the cowboy lifestyle with the flow of 2000s rap.

The forthcoming album includes previous singles 'Buddy,' 'Duffy’s Bluff,' 'Prairie Roads With My Dawgs,' 'Ten Sleep,' 'All Wool,' 'What in Tarnation' and the Sierra Ferrell collab 'A Long Way' as well as seven other previously unreleased cuts.

“It took some time to find the right producers and the sound I was really chasing. Once I found the team, though, it clicked. We built something that feels fresh and different, and I couldn’t be happier with where we landed.”

Known for his signature fashion sense, light-hearted twang, and high-energy live shows, Charles continues to work on new music in Nashville, TN, leading the charge for Western rap and a new hip hop landscape without genre lines.

“This record doesn’t sit in a box - it’s not just rap, it’s not just country. We worked hard to make something that sounds like us, something that’s its own lane. That’s what makes Jiggy Buckaroo stand out.”

He's still flexin’ in that Stetson like he's Toby Keith, and judging from the sneak preview we've had, Jiggy Buckaroo will be joining BigXthaPlug's collab heavy country project as one of the highlights in a year when rap and country music have crossed forces to make some of the most exciting records of the year.
