Riley Green is reminding us why he's built a reputation as one of the most prolific artists in modern country, with the Alabama native treating us to a new song teaser, ‘My Way’.
It's the same track he shared a few months ago, with the fact that the Alabama native has decided to gift us a second snippet seemingly suggesting he's planning to drop it soon.
Riley Green writes so many songs that often, we'll fall in love with an unreleased demo, and then by the time the album rolls around, he's decided to cut it from the project.
Thankfully, ‘My Way’s prospects are looking good at the moment. The yearning, introspective offering finds Green wistfully addressing an ex, and fantasising about having a conversation with her, during which they decide to rekindle their romance.
‘My Way’ showcases the ‘Different ‘Round Here’ hitmaker's ability to offer listeners a brief but visceral snapshot into a specific moment of pain or longing, with Riley Green crooning forlornly across the brooding, intricate strum of his acoustic guitar.
As well as receiving a few compliments for his stylish blue Durham Bulls ball-cap - including from the official Bulls Instagram page - Green's comments section has been flooded by fans jovially celebrating the return of his now-signature mustache.
When Riley Green switched up his look earlier in the month, it sparked a part-tongue-in-cheek, part-serious outcry from across the country music world, with Green himself joking in a recent interview that he didn't realise he was “the mustache guy”.
Well, mustache or not, it seems Riley Green is cooking up some more stellar music, and we can't wait to hear what he has in store after his top-tier 2024 album, Don't Mind If I Do. The latest teaser comes hot on the heels of the ‘Georgia Time’ crooner earning his fifth No. 1 at Country Radio with his steamy, viral single, ‘Worst Way’.

“If I had it my way, I'd be losing feeling in my left arm right now
Try like Hell not to wake you up while you're laying on me, on the living room couch
Half a John Wayne Western on that we wasn't watching anyway
Girl, I swear I would stay right there for days
If I had it my way
-
Call me up and say, ‘I need you now, and I can't go another day’
I'd say, ‘You're all I ever think about and I'd give anything to see your face’
You'd say, ‘I miss you’, I'd say, ‘I don't know how much more I can take’
You'd say, ‘I'm on my way’
If I had it my way
If I had it my way
-
If I had it my way
I'd be watching your eyes turn from brown to hazel right now
The way they did on that back porch swing when the sky turned red watching the sun go down
There'd be a field full of fireflies watching this lost time making up
You'd be in my arms
We'd still be in love
If I had it my way
If I had it my way
-
If I had it my way
I would blink and we'd disappear somewhere somehow
Have a little bit of red wine poured into coffee cups watching the stars come out
We'd have an Al Green record on, dance a little by the fireplace
We'd make our love and we'd just lay
If I had it my way
If I had it my way”
