The follow up to 'No Getting Over You' from last month,'Night Goes Black' is equally as mesmerising, with the band’s signature harmonies and anthemic indie folk turned up full on the fittingly brooding 'Night Goes Black' ahead of All Hallows' Eve
"It's getting so hard to believe you / Everything we've been through / So hard not let it all go dark," they harmonise with a suitably spooked-out, distanced vocal. "And every thought and every notion / Everything we've set in motion / I close my eyes to the time we won't get back / And the night goes black."
“‘Night Goes Black’ is about a friendship falling apart," says Zach Williams from the band. "The kind that shapes you. When I left New York for Nashville about ten years ago, my best friend and I had already spent a decade living together, raising our kids side by side, and dreaming up an artistic community. Leaving that behind was heartbreaking. This was the song we wrote for each other on the drive down - a reflection on how love, grief and change can all exist in the same breath.”
