Leah Blevins has treated us to another preview of her eagerly anticipated new album, All Dressed Up, with the traditional country trailblazer releasing ‘Be Careful Throwing Stones’.
The infectious, retro-tinged earworm has been elevated by a cinematic new music video, which is premiering exclusively with Holler today (Thursday, December 11th).
The visuals bring the bittersweet narrative of the track to life, with the video opening on Blevins in a wedding dress, as she wanders through a quaint, wooden chapel. It accentuates the playful double-meaning behind the titular lyric, with Blevins flipping the classic phrase, “people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones”. Then, as the video gathers intensity, we find Blevins in a field, as she decides to throw the stone on her finger - her engagement ring - into a lake.
Ahead of the track's arrival, Blevins muses, “This song is about protecting the softest parts of yourself. Dan, Daniel and I were writing from that place where hope meets caution. It’s a reminder to move gently through love - with others and with yourself”.
The ‘Little Birds’ singer-songwriter expands, “The song, ‘Be Careful Throwing Stones’, for me, represents the dynamic of a relationship when there is more ego than love and admission. Habitual and predictable behavior, rather than accountability. It’s a nod to the saying, ‘Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones’”.
All Dressed Up serves as Blevins’ keenly awaited sophomore album, with the 10-song project set to arrive on March 20th, 2026. Alongside the cautionary title-track and the ‘70s-inspired ‘Be Careful Throwing Stones’, the record will feature brand new gems such as ‘Hey God’, ‘Below the Belt’, ‘Lonely’ and ‘Tequila Mockingbird’.
After today's stellar new release and the visceral drama of the accompanying music video, it's safe to say the excitement is through the roof ahead of Blevin's new album.
