Post Malone will make a cameo in Paramount's new Christmas film, Dear Santa, which premieres on November 25th and stars Jack Black portraying a devilish incarnation of Santa Claus.
The plot revolves around a boy, Liam, played by Robert Timothy-Smith, who pens a letter to Santa. However, due to an innocent but crucial typo, Liam (hilariously) ends up writing ‘Dear Satan’ instead, prompting the Devil to appear before him.
After meeting Liam, the Devil - played by Jack Black - joins the boy for a slew of amusing misadventures. Dear Santa has been directed by the Farrelly Brothers, marking their first collaboration since the hugely popular Dumb and Dumber To in 2014.
The Devil tries to tempt Liam and attempts to steal his soul by treating him to a host of luxuries, from rolling in cash to getting magically proficient at gambling. One of Satan's methods, excitingly, is giving the boy a chance to meet one of his favourite artists - Post Malone.
Following a teaser snippet shared yesterday (Wednesday, November 6th), the official Dear Santa trailer - including a clip of Posty meeting Liam - has now been released by Paramount.
Post Malone appears as himself, with the ‘I Had Some Help’ hitmaker also performing a song for Liam and his friend during the film. When Bobby Farrelly, one of the directors, was asked why they chose Posty for this role, he explained simply, “Because I love Post Malone, and I know that kids that age love Post Malone”.
It's true that the New York native has become a widely loved figure in modern music in recent years, with Post Malone gaining a reputation for being one of the ‘nicest’ - as well as one of the most streamed, with more Diamond plaques than anyone else - artists in today's industry. Posty dropped his brand new album and debut country project, F-1Trillion (Long Bed), in August, featuring blockbuster collaborations with Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, Luke Combs and more.
Dear Santa, featuring Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key and more, is available to stream on Paramount+ in the US on November 25th, and in the UK on November 26th.
