Country curious Lana Del Rey took the stage alongside 'Country As Fuck' Paul Cauthen for a surprise duet that will likely go down in Stagecoach history.
On Friday (April 26), the first night of the Indio, California country fest, Cauthen welcomed the 'Summertime Sadness' star under the desert spotlight for an unbelievable performance of The Righteous Brothers' classic tune, 'Unchained Melody.'
It is a cover that has long lived in Cauthen's repertoire ever since he recorded it in 2020 alongside fellow hitmaker Orville Peck under the moniker The Unrighteous Brothers. Last night, was not Del Rey's first time tackling the tune either. In December 2023, she covered the song during the NBC-helmed holiday special, Christmas At Graceland.
Together onstage at the festival, the pair performed their greatest version of the tune yet, delivering the song as it has never been heard before. Del Rey's angelic lilt married beautifully with Cauthen's smoky croon for a showcase we won't soon forget.
Perhaps we'll get even more from the duo on Lana Del Rey's forthcoming country project, Lasso, slated to arrive sometime in September.
