Parker McCollum is plotting, and we're pretty sure that a new album announcement in imminent.
After casually deleting or archiving all of the posts on his Instagram account and changing his profile picture to a fuzzy solid grey photo, the Texas hitmaker put the final nail in the coffin by changing his bio to say simply, "Be the first to know….," pushing fans to click the link below.
Once arriving at McCollum's website, you're met with a running countdown, the time ending at 9:45pm CT on March 21.
This might seem like a strange time for a countdown to end at, but if you take a look at his touring schedule, the proud native Texan will be headlining RODEOHOUSTON tonight in Houston, TX, which has featured blockbuster performances from Post Malone, Zach Top, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman and more in previous weeks.
With all of this in mind, we can only assume that a big announcement is coming during McCollum's highly-anticipated RODEOHOUSTON appearance, and considering the star shared his new run of 2025 touring dates on his Instagram story earlier today, all signs are pointing to a new album.
Marking the long-teased follow-up to 2023's Never Enough, the 'Pretty Heart' singer-songwriter has been hard at work on the project for two years now as he plots his return to the sparser, more rugged sound of his breakout debut album, The Limestone Kid.
McCollum spoke to Holler in February 2024 about how, at that point, he’d “already written 20 songs that I want to cut for this new album," underlining that the project would explore a more stripped-back feel.
“I've gone as far into the clean and polished production as I want to. Now it's time to find my way back to how I first started making records. That's really what I'm looking to do on this next album. I'm cutting a new path back to the old me,” he shared.
Over the last several months, the ACM award-winner has continued to hint at new music to come, only having released the record's lead single, 'What Kinda Man,' and the lonesome 'Perfectly Lonely.'
Also expected on the forthcoming full-length will be previously teased fan-favorites like ‘Big Ol’ Fancy House,’ ‘I Don’t Want to Be a Cowboy Tonight’ and 'Hope I'm Enough,' among others.
As we await his arrival on the RODEOHOUSTON stage, we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that the Limestone Kid has something big on his way.
