It wasn't long ago that Ole 60 seemingly came out of nowhere, riding in on their viral debut EP, three twenty four. Now out of the shadows of obscurity, their hits have just kept on coming, and today (April 26), they're offering fans their latest.
The Kentucky-forged fivesome just dropped their newest single 'Next to You,' a harmonica-warped ballad that joins their recently released 'Brother Joe.' It's an intimate tune, one that chronicles a relationship on the rocks, and is a marked departure from their fiery 'Brother Joe.'
"Fools in love ain't fools at all," the song begins, setting up what is assumed to be an endearing proclamation of love. "That's why I pick up every time that you call / Pack of Marlboro Lights and some Adderall / I'll be on my way."
But the relationship that plays out in 'Next to You' seems to have a few more downs than ups. "Seems like we do this every time," the verse continues. "One'll fall and one'll lie / Something 'bout two wrongs and a right / Ain't that what they say."
The releases from Ole 60 have been heating up lately. While nothing has been hinted at yet, perhaps the band's latest offerings will come together in a full-length debut sooner rather than later.
