Noah Kahan's fanbase have had to be patient over the past few years, as the ‘Stick Season’ hitmaker has kept teasing unreleased snippets with no sign of an official release date.
But since the turn of the year, the folk trailblazer has been more than making up for lost time. In January, we finally got the full studio version of ‘The Great Divide’, a beautiful yet haunting reflection on friendship and trauma, along with news that the Vermont native's next studio album of the same name would be arriving in April.
Then came the blockbuster stadium tour - which, as of today (Thursday, February 19th), has completely sold-out - and now, at long last, it looks like we might be getting another long-teased fan-favourite song, ‘Porch Light’, in the coming weeks.

First teased back in 2024, ‘Porch Light’ quickly made its way to the peak of the pile of Kahan's vault of unreleased songs, with fans clamouring for it to be made available to stream.
Thankfully, it looks like ‘Porch Light’ is set to be the second single to arrive from The Great Divide, with Kahan's secret “burner” TikTok account, @thelastofthebugs, sharing a new snippet of the unreleased gem alongside what looks to be the single artwork. The image features a simple porch drenched in sunshine.
The same page shared a lengthier clip of the song a few weeks back, hinting that ‘Porch Light’ would be a key track on the forthcoming album. With this latest clip, we reckon Kahan is getting ready to drop the heartfelt ode ahead of the record.
It certainly feels like ‘Porch Light’ fits in neatly with the narrative of ‘The Great Divide’, with Kahan reflecting on an old friendship that appears to have grown somewhat strained.
Across an emphatic, banjo-driven instrumental, Kahan croons longingly to his pal, “Posion you're spreading to my lungs / I ain't holding breath, I ain't holding any faith at all / And I'll pray for you, be in pain for you / I'll leave the porch light on / Heartbroken, each morning when it's me that turns it off / So it goes / So it goes / So it goes”.
We're hoping that, alongside ‘Porch Light’ and ’The Great Divide’, Kahan's new project includes other brilliant tracks, such as ‘Doors’, ‘Deny, Deny, Deny’ and ‘Wreckage of You’.
