During his spellbinding performance at the IGS Energy Benefit Concert presented by City of Dublin in Columbus, Ohio last night (May 29th), Noah Kahan performed the live debut of a new unreleased song, seemingly titled, ‘Deny, Deny, Deny’.

We first heard snippet of the angsty, evocative offering almost exactly a month to the day ago in April, with Kahan continuing to tease his long-awaited new studio album.

‘Deny, Deny, Deny’ finds the Vermont native regaling listeners with a tale that feels cut from the same visceral cloth as ’Orange Juice’ and ‘Dial Drunk’, where he addresses a friend or lover with an increasing amount of frustration as the song builds to its climax.

With Noah Kahan adding ‘Deny, Deny, Deny’ into his setlist for the first time, it has fans wondering whether this means we can expect the folk megastar to release it any time soon.

Unfortunately, just because he's started performing it, this doesn't mean he has any immediate plans to drop it. Kahan loves to share snippets and live debuts of unreleased songs - take ‘The Great Divide’, for example, which he first teased in early 2024.

There are an array of other stellar unreleased offerings that Noah Kahan has been performing sporadically in recent months, such as ‘Doors’, ‘Pain Eater’, ‘Porch Light’ and ‘Spoiled’. Earlier in the week, Kahan replied to a fan on TikTok confirming ‘Spoiled’ would appear on his forthcoming project, alongside ‘The Great Divide’.

However, there's still no release date in sight for the record. Nonetheless, Noah Kahan keeps offering us tidbits via social media, with the ‘Northern Attitude’ hitmaker hinting via his Instagram Stories earlier in the month, “This album is going to slap so hard”.

During his May BottleRock set, Kahan assured fans they wouldn't have to wait too much longer, sharing, “I just wanted y'all to know, if anyone here is waiting for my album, I just want you to know I'm working on it, hard...It's almost there. So, we're getting there”.

With Noah Kahan dropping a slew of revamped duet versions of songs from his smash hit Stick Season era, which were eventually compiled into his expanded Stick Season (Forever) project, fans have been waiting for a full-length original album since 2022.

Even so, given the quality of these unreleased song teasers and the fact that Noah Kahan's songwriting intricacy and depth unrivalled in the contemporary country and folk scene, we think it's safe to say Kahan's new record will be well worth the wait. We're hoping the momentous project will be announced in the coming months.

“Conversation within a conversation

I wanna drop the glass

But you're far too patient

I wanna see you lose it

I wanna hear you say it

I wanna know the dark

That I share a plane with

-

Oh, tell me when you were broken

Do you still have a heart?

Or has somebody stole it?

But I'm far too tired to watch you lie

Let's just watch TV

-

I'll get your house paid off so the FEDS can't touch it

Another thing we don't talk about anymore

Don't worry, I won't bring it up

You can scream at me when I come home drunk

And it's fine, I know the company line

When I ask about the past, you deny, deny, deny

-

We're both exhausted

For different reasons

I used to care

To know your secrets

You said you got a guilty conscience

Well, I ain't ever seen it

And I'm well-prepared

To never mean ‘em

-

Oh, tell me when you are broken
Do you still have a heart
Or did somebody stole it?
But I'm far too tired to watch you lie
Let's just watch TV

-

I'll get your house paid off so the FEDS can't touch it

Another thing we don't talk about anymore

Don't worry, I won't bring it up

You can scream at me when I come home drunk

And it's fine, I know the company line

When I ask about the past, you deny, deny, deny

-

I'll get your house paid off so the FEDS can't touch it

Another thing we don't talk about anymore

Don't worry, I won't bring it up

You can scream at me when I come home drunk

And it's fine, I know the company line

When I ask about the past, you deny, deny, deny

-

Oh, I'll get your house paid off so the FEDS can't touch it

Another thing we don't talk about anymore

Don't worry, I won't bring it up

You can scream at me when I come home drunk

And it's fine, I know the company line

When I ask about the past, you deny, deny, deny”
