Morgan Wallen has overtaken Garth Brooks’ Billboard Top Country Albums record, with the Sneedville megastar racking up his 174th career week at No. 1 on the prestigious ranking.
The milestone is surpassed as Morgan Wallen's sprawling, genre-blending 2023 album, One Thing At A Time, notches a staggering 75th week at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.
Given the fact that One Thing At A Time has been out for almost two years now, this achievement once again emphasises Wallen's unrivalled dominance over the modern country space.
Despite the fact that the ‘Love Somebody’ hitmaker hasn't released a new album in almost two years, it often feels as though barely a week goes by without Morgan Wallen breaking a new chart record or accomplishing another unthinkable streaming feat.
At the time of writing, for instance, nine out of the top ten most streamed songs on Apple Music Country feature Morgan Wallen, with Shaboozey's viral 2024 smash, ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’, the only country track managing to hold its own on the listing.
What makes Morgan Wallen's Billboard Top Country Albums accomplishment even more impressive is the fact that the ‘Last Night’ crooner has overtaken Garth Brooks’ 173-week record in the space of just five years. Wallen first hit No. 1 in August 2020, with his 2018 record, If I Know Me, spending two weeks at the pinnacle. Then, Dangerous: The Double Album spent an incredible 97 weeks atop the chart.
Morgan Wallen's chart supremacy is showing no signs of slowing down, with the country titan currently gearing up to release a brand new studio album, I'm the Problem.
By the looks of the recently teased tracklist, there may be 37 songs vying for a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 when the project arrives. I'm the Problem is expected to include the recently shared ‘Superman’, a visceral, vulnerable ode to Wallen's son, Indie.
That striking ode is set to join the likes of ‘Since You Got Gone’, ‘Redneck’, ’Smile’, ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’, ‘Love Somebody’ and the title-track on I'm the Problem, which is already cementing itself as one of the most highly anticipated records of 2025.
