Morgan Wallen has secured his first ever No. 1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart, with his stellar new record, I'm the Problem, debuting at the peak of the all-genre ranking.

Although Wallen is no stranger to finding himself at the top of the charts in the US, this nonetheless marks a colossal feat for the Sneedville megastar, particularly when his previous project, One Thing At A Time, reached a high of No. 40 on the UK listing.

In a statement to the Official Charts, the ‘Love Somebody’ hitmaker has expressed his gratitude to the UK listeners that have made I'm the Problem his first No. 1 across The Pond.

Wallen reflected on the transatlantic surge in popularity he has enjoyed, thanks in no small part to his willingness to regularly make the trip over for shows such as his 2023 O2 Arena set and his 2024 BST Hyde Park concert, “The massive growth that we’ve seen in the UK is truly something special. One Thing At A Time debuted at Number 40 and I’m The Problem is debuting at Number 1 only two years apart”.

Wallen, who has cemented his status as modern country music's biggest star, expanded, “I am so grateful and humbled my music is connecting in a place where we have spent time and worked to build a real and meaningful relationship with our fans there”, before addressing his fans directly, “Thank you guys so much!”

The ‘Eyes Are Closed’ singer-songwriter will get the chance to thank his loyal UK fans in person next week, when Morgan Wallen takes the stage at London's Roundhouse on Wednesday, May 28th for a special one-night-only album release show.

It's events like these that emphasise how conscientious Morgan Wallen has been of cultivating a strong relationship with his listeners outside of the US, with many country artists rarely making the trip over to the UK to connect with their global followers.

Morgan Wallen has also picked up his second No. 1 album in Australia, with I'm the Problem emulating the success of One Thing At A Time Down Under on the ARIA charts. In the US, I'm the Problem is on pace to move between 450-500K equivalent album units, with the record a shoo-in for another No. 1 debut on the prestigious Billboard 200.

It's incredibly exciting to see Wallen propelling country music to new heights, not only Stateside but across Europe, Australia and beyond. He keeps pushing the genre into novel territory, both sonically with his infusion of trap beats and indie-rock instrumentation, and in terms of visibility, with Wallen introducing many listeners to country for the first time, thanks to his immense, continent-spanning popularity.
