"If you start steppin' out / Only one thing can console me / If you’re gonna leave me in San Antone / Remember the alimony." The tongue-in-cheek lyric belongs to an unreleased Miranda Lambert song, one she recently teased across social media.
From a brief preview of the Texas-textured tune, dubbed 'Alimony' for its threat of financial spousal support, it seems poised to join the star's hefty catalog of vengeful heartache hits.
When 'Alimony' will be released is not yet known; but once it is, the song will be the perfect addition to her recently dropped singles, two scorned anthems 'Dammit Randy' and 'Wranglers'.
This year has seen Lambert make some big career moves, most recently joining Republic Records for a fresh start and a new direction. This recent slate of singles mark her first releases since the label move and perhaps offer the first tastes of an impending album.
With the teasing of 'Alimony', fans flocked to the comments section, one of them asking, "Is a new album coming this year?" Lambert simply replied with a mischievously smirking emoji, a telltale sign of ... maybe.
