Miranda Lambert has taken to her socials to tease new music, with the ‘Bluebird’ hitmaker confirming she's written three songs with Stephen Wilson Jr. and Ashley Monroe.
After sharing a new photo of the three artists together, Lambert paid tribute to her collaborators, writing, “I’ve been inspired by Ash and her melodies and heart for 20 years now. And Stephen’s record has lit a fire under my ass since I laid ears on it”.
Fans are keenly awaiting Miranda Lambert's follow-up record to her widely lauded 2022 project, Palomino, with the Texas singer-songwriter now seemingly in ‘album mode’.
Lambert confirmed she'd been hard at work in the writing room with Stephen Wilson Jr. and Ashley Monroe, underlining, “Wrote the first songs of 2024 today with bestie [Ashley Monroe] and new friend [Stephen Wilson Jr.]...Great start to this year I’d say! We got deep in the paint. 3 in a day… but let’s get it while the gettin’s good”.
Endearingly, Stephen Wilson Jr. echoed Miranda Lambert's sentiments in the comments section, with the ‘Holler From The Holler’ songsmith championing it as his “favorite day of the year already”.
One of Nashville's premier songwriters, Shane McAnally, expressed his own excitement at the prospect of hearing the products of their writing session, “Love everything you and [Ashley Monroe] have done together. Can’t wait to hear!!!”
Unsurprisingly, Miranda Lambert's fans have flooded the comments with calls for the country trailblazer to release a snippet of at least one of the songs. Although not 100% clear, it appears the three songs were written with Lambert's album in mind - and with it now being almost two years since Palomino, listeners are keeping their fingers crossed that we'll be getting new music before too long.
