Folk prodigy Michael Marcagi has at long last given us the news we've been waiting for, with the ‘Scared to Start’ hitmaker today (January 16th) unveiling his debut studio album.

It follows a stellar year of singles, including the infectious ‘Good Enough’ and the playful yet vulnerable ‘Humbling’, with Marcagi confirming his first full-length record, Under the Streetlights, will be arriving everywhere on Friday, February 6th 2026.

The Ohio native has accompanied the exciting announcement with the release of a brand new song, ‘Don't Include Me (American Dream)’. Crucially, this evocative, atmospheric track is the only already-out single to feature on Under the Streetlights.

Via a heartfelt social media message, Marcagi stresses how much he's looking forward to sharing this body of work with fans, “New song out today - But even more fun news. I’m officially releasing my first full length record “Under The Streetlights” in a few weeks on February 6th. I am so excited to finally have a complete album and I have never been more proud and happy with a group of songs in my life. The past few years have been absolutely amazing and unexpected, and it’s taken me to places I never dreamed of. Thank you to every single person who came to a show and streamed my music and supported me. I owe you guys everything. And thank you to all of the people who helped me create this album. Thank you for believing in me. I hope yall like these songs as much as I do”.

Hilariously - and self-deprecatingly as ever - Marcagi has commented beneath this, “Gotta get it out before Harry’s record”, a reference to the worldwide hysteria that has greeted the announcement that Harry Styles is dropping a new album next month.

In a separate statement, the ‘Keep Me Honest’ singer-songwriter has shed light on the inspiration behind the new single, “‘Don’t Include Me (American Dream)’ is a song about trying to move on when it seems impossible. About the feeling of wanting to go back but knowing you can’t change anything. Accepting who you are and moving forward when all things are drawing you back to a person or a place”.

Marcagi embarks on a sprawling World Tour later this month, with the fast-emerging artist set to perform in Portugal, Spain, the UK, Italy, Germany, Ireland and more, before linking up with Sam Barber for his North America tour. It's safe to say 2026 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year for Marcagi, as the ‘Unlocks Me’ crooner cements himself as one of the most exciting new voices in the folk space.
