Is Marshmello preparing a country crossover project?

Judging by his star-studded Spotify House set last night (Thursday, June 5th), it certainly looks that way, with the genre-blending DJ debuting an array of new country collaborations.

Fans that managed to secure a spot at Blake Shelton's Ole Red bar - the home of one of CMA Fest's most beloved fixtures, Spotify House - were treated to a staggering four special guests during Marshmello's electric set, which kicked off at 12:30am.

Kane Brown emerged to a fervent chorus of screams and cheers, with the ‘Heaven’ hitmaker linking up with Marshmello to perform their addictive YeeDM anthem, ‘Miles On It’.

It sent the crowd into a frenzy, with virtually every fan inside Ole Red singing gleefully along to the infectious country-dance earworm. It serves as Brown's second collaboration with Marshmello, following their smash hit 2019 single, ‘One Thing Right’.

Attendees were also able to witness a plethora of new unreleased offerings from the Pennsylvania DJ, who kept his signature identity-obscuring helmet on throughout the set.

The enigmatic trailblazer joined forces with some of country's rising stars, with Marshmello inviting Hudson Westbrook on-stage to debut their joint track, ‘Better Man Than Me’.

In addition, Dasha joined forces with the ‘Happier’ producer to serenade the crowd with another unreleased, club-ready hit-in-waiting, while one of the genre's leading figures, Ashley Cooke, completed Marshmello's momentous quartet of guests.

Given how the Avicii-inspired sub-genre of YeeDM (a fusion of country and EDM) is enjoying a boom in popularity, and judging by these live debuts and his stellar track record, we can't wait to see what new music Marshmello has up his sleeve this year.
