The two combine to produce a haunting, acoustic re-imagination of the fiery song, which has been released as part of a three-song EP.
The project also includes the Sharon Van Etten-assisted ‘Radio’, which Price and Etten recently performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden, along with ‘Anytime You Call’, featuring ‘Lucius’. Both songs originally appeared on Strays.
The new Margo Price and Sierra Ferrell collaboration strips away the ferocity and drama of the original, to add a new sense of playfulness and fiddle-driven eeriness.
Speaking ahead of the release, Price underlined how excited she was to work with Ferrell, “I’m real excited to share this stripped down take on 'Change of Heart' featuring Sierra Ferrell.
Sierra is one of my favorite new voices in music and I loved getting to work with her on this acoustic version of the song.
I love to lift up other women in the genre when I see somebody putting out great art. In an industry that tries to drive us apart, it’s freeing to break down those barriers and say, ‘there is room for everyone’”.
In tandem with the release, Margo Price revealed that she'd be heading across The Pond to perform a special one-off set at London's Lafayette.
The show is due to take place on August 25, while Price is already in the UK for her appearance at The Long Road Festival 2023.
The new EP continues Price's impressive run of new music following the release of Strays in January, with the Illinois native also featuring on the new Willie Nelson tribute album, One Night in Texas.
The project, which includes Price's take on ‘Shotgun Willie’ will be released on April 28, to help celebrate Willlie's 90th birthday.
