After months of teasers and trailers, the first episode of Taylor Sheridan's latest Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, has arrived. Luke Grimes resumes his role as Kayce Dutton, who, in the wake of a personal tragedy, decides to join a group of US Marshals.
Country music has always been a cornerstone of Sheridan's impressive catalogue of neo-Western TV shows, with Yellowstone spotlighting a host of artists such as Zach Bryan, Shane Smith & The Saints, Sam Barber, Turnpike Troubadours and more.
Lainey Wilson and Ryan Bingham also famously appeared in Yellowstone as returning characters. We're still keeping our fingers crossed Lainey might get her own spin-off as Abby.
Riley Green is the latest country phenom to join the Yellowstone universe, making a cameo in the first season of Marshals. Now the first episode has dropped, the picture is a little clearer as to what we can expect from the Season One soundtrack.
We won't give you any spoilers just yet as to what happens plot-wise in the opening episode of Marshals Season One (although the trailer strongly hints at one major character's exit). But in terms of the soundtrack, it looks like Sheridan and his creative team are sticking with a country-leaning blueprint, with Midland's ‘Glass Half Empty’, Noah James’ ‘Set Free’ and Luke Grimes’ ’Haunted’ all appearing.
Grimes revealed that ‘Haunted’ - the latest song to be released from his forthcoming album, Red Bird - would be included in Marshals. It fits the ambience of Episode One perfectly, with ‘Haunted’ playing out ominously as Kayce visits a grave.
The next episode airs on Sunday, March 8th 2026, with an exciting array of additional Yellowstone spin-offs set to drop this year, including The Madison and Dutton Ranch.
