At long last, it seems the release date for Luke Combs’ rowdy new anthem, ‘My Kinda Saturday Night’, is almost upon us. Combs first teased the uptempo earworm at the start of the summer, and according to his official fan-page, it's dropping very soon.
Over the weekend, the official Luke Combs HQ Instagram page surprised fans by hinting, “Luckily this will be the last Saturday night we won’t have ‘My Kinda Saturday Night'”. Combs has seemingly confirmed the impending release by re-sharing the story.
Given the fact that new music tends to drop on Fridays, it appears Combs and his fan-page are suggesting ‘My Kinda Saturday Night’ might be arriving this Friday, October 3rd.
Shortly after this, the country megastar returned to Instagram to share a clip of another new track, ‘15 Minutes’, and confirming he has finished recording this song. Combs implied that he recorded the track during the same session as ‘My Kinda Saturday Night’, “While I was at it, went ahead and finished 15 Minutes too”.
Interestingly, ‘15 Minutes’ was not one of the songs Combs uploaded to his secret Instagram account - @lcombs77 - as part of his decision to ‘crowd-source’ his next album. The @lcombs77 page has fourteen demos, with the ‘When It Rains It Pours’ singer-songwriter narrowing down his tracklist based on fans’ responses.
Even though it didn't make its way onto this burner Instagram account, ‘15 Minutes’ is a gem, with the North Carolina native stepping into the shoes of someone in prison calling up his family, and reflecting on all the experiences he is missing. As he is behind bars, the protagonist only has 15 minutes to say what he wants to say.
We're hoping this means Combs’ next album is on the horizon. After stripping it all back for the wonderfully raw and intricate Fathers & Sons in 2024, we're excited to hear the ‘Beautiful Crazy’ hitmaker returning to anthemic, beers-in-the-air territory.
