‘All Summer Long’ star, Kid Rock, is set to take the stage at Barefoot Country Music Fest 2023.

The beachside festival is returning to the shores of Wildwood, New Jersey on June 15-18.

Earlier this year, Kid Rock dropped his first album since 2017, Bad Reputation. Barefoot Country Music Fest 2023 attendees will be treated to live performances of a series of these new tracks, along with some of his older hits.

The headliner announcement has been greeted with mixed reactions. Some are excited about the inclusion, but many festival-goers raised concerns about the booking, given the persistent drip-feed of scandals that Kid Rock continues to become embroiled in.

Kid Rock's 2022 album title was certainly appropriate, with the Michigan native having caused a slew of controversies throughout his career.

In 2021, for instance, Kid Rock was filmed hurling homophobic slurs at audience members, before doubling down on their use after he was widely criticised.

Rock has also made a number of aggressive and sexist public remarks towards a number celebrities, including Taylor Swift and Oprah Winfrey.

Kid Rock has also gained notoriety for the rowdy, rebellious atmosphere he instigates at his shows.

While the artist's loyal fanbase will be eagerly looking forward to the chance to throw down with the man himself next June, judging from comments on the festival's Instagram announcement, others are much less enthusiastic about the divisive inclusion.

He joins the already announced headliners, Blake Shelton and Darius Rucker, as the Barefoot Country Music Fest continues to pack its 2023 line-up with some of country's biggest names.

The festival will take place in the popular vacation spot of Wildwood, New Jersey, and is establishing itself as one of the staple summer festivals in country music fans' calendars.

In 2022, the Barefoot Country Music Fest booked a suite of big names in the genre, with Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Cole Swindell. More artists for the 2023 instalment are set to be announced at a later date.
