Kenny Chesney's Sphere Las Vegas guest-list just keeps getting better, with the No Shoes Nation figurehead surprising the crowd over the weekend with a momentous duet with his longstanding friend and frequent collaborator, David Lee Murphy.
The duo have worked together on an array of smash hits from across Chesney's stellar discography, including ‘Til It's Gone’, ‘Pirate Flag’, ‘Here and Now’ and ‘Live a Little’.
They also teamed up back in 2017 for the uplifting ‘Everything's Gonna Be Alright’, and the Las Vegas audience were treated to a stunning live rendition of that iconic hit.
The joyful offering finds the two artists reassuring listeners that, even when they are facing challenges and can't see a way out, they can rest in the knowledge that, ultimately, ‘Everything's Gonna Be Alright’, and things will work out for the best. It became Murphy's first No. 1 at Country Radio since 1995's ‘Dust on the Bottle’.
David Lee Murphy remained on-stage with Kenny Chesney to lead crowd-wide Sphere sing-a-longs of two of his beloved ‘90s smashes, ‘Dust on the Bottle’, and ‘Party Crowd’.
When introducing his buddy, Chesney warmly gushed, “I've already sang like six or seven songs that he wrote already in the show tonight, and I love him. Please make welcome to the stage, everybody, the wonderful...the only, David Lee Murphy”. After their performance, David Lee Murphy took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Kenny Chesney for inviting him out, reflecting fondly, “What a weekend!”
We're hoping that the two prolific singer-songwriters find time to hit the studio again in the near future, with Kenny Chesney and David Lee Murphy able to bottle up magic whenever they unite. Chesney completes the final three shows of his Sphere residency this week, with highly anticipated dates lined up on June 18th, 20th and 21st.
